This week was dedicated to learning about calendar in Mathematics. We did a lot of fun activities.
Students were shown a calendar and we brainstormed it as a whole class.

Students were asked to bring 2016 calendars from home. They observed the calendar and answered questions individually in their Math notebook.

Students were divided into groups. They explored the calendar and answered few questions written on the mini-board.

Finally a class quiz on calendar was done called “Kaun Banega Maha Crorepati”. Students showed a lot of enthusiasm and excitement.

In our classroom, we have put an interactive  calendar for the students on the white board, so that they can keep referring to it.

In UOI, we started off this week with the 3rd Formative Assessment.  Students had to imagine themselves as reporters and had to write a report about the environment, based on few criterion.

Students were overwhelmed to have a video conferencing session with their friends in Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa. They asked them questions about Mombasa, Kenya & answered the queries of their counterparts regarding Hyderabad and India. Overall our kids loved the session  and had an enriching experience.

This week was full of assessments for our kids. Sounds boring…isn’t it??? Ask our kids. They enjoyed preparing for their Summative Assessment. The task was to plan a trip to Mombasa, Kenya. They were asked to prepare a suitcase (shoe box) and take specific items which would demonstrate their learning and understanding about Mombasa.

In English, students are doing non-chronological report writing. Ms Alison guided them how to search information from non-fiction text and turn it into a report. The topic chosen was dinosaurs, which made it even more fascinating.

Students were shown a snow globe and were asked to imagine themselves inside it. The task was "If you are trapped inside a snow globe...". Our students have come up with some remarkable stories.

Finally all the Junior school staffs and students had a gala time on the Entrepreneurship Day (27th January),  which was organized by grade 3 students. There were so many stalls. To name a few, the little entrepreneurs sold popcorn, lemonade, pav bhaji, chocolate dip, stickers, fancy pens. But the icing on the cake was the photo booth. They had some awesome props. Both kids and teachers got dressed up and clicked crazy pictures. To put it in a nutshell, our kids enjoyed it thoroughly.
