In UOI, this week we started with our new unit “Communication”. The teacher talked to the students in Odia language. The students were asked to write their feelings and reflection in the Ipad using the padlet, followed by a classroom discussion.

Students had to describe themselves using a Colour, Symbol and Image for the Pre-unit Assessment. It was an individual task on a worksheet.

Students watched a mime video and expressed their views and opinions. They also came up with student questions.

Our whiz kids made these signs and symbols :)

Students got various signs and symbols from home. They explored it as a whole class followed by sorting them into different categories.

In Math, students were introduced to time. They were shown a picture of  a running race and were asked questions about time.

Students were asked to keenly see the classroom clock and write their observation in the Math notebook.

In another learning engagement, they had to identify the hands in a clock and their importance.

Students were paired up and given a laminated clock template. They discussed with their respective partner and took turns to show the time.

Apart from that our kids had a magnificent learning time during the Maths Mela. We had five centers.

They also had a session on Abacus.

In English, students were asked to observe artifacts on and under a table which included a shirt, pant, belt, gown, tie, shoes, socks and sandals. They had to think and name the book by Julia Donaldson which comprised all these artifacts.

The Ros Wilson writing assessment was done in this week.

All in all, this was a fun-filled learning week for our kids :)
