This week in UOI, we inquired into the first LOI. Students were given picture books. They observed the picture books and wrote their understanding.

Grace’s mother Ms Jessica was our Guest Speaker. She has worked as a journalist in UK and has written a novel. She spoke about the various communication techniques writers use to make their work more attractive and appealing to the audience.

Students wrote reflection on the guest lecture.

Students watched two Charlie Chaplin videos followed by a classroom discussion on non verbal communication.

Students learnt how to send emails in the ICT class. They were paired up and wrote an email to Ms Anjum. They were allowed to use emoticons.

This week our students were busy preparing for the science fair. Our theme was on PLANTS. Our budding scientists put up a magnificent show.

This week in Math, we concentrated only on time. Students were told a story on time called "Game Time".

Students were shown a video on time and were introduced to time terminology like O clock, quarter to, quarter past, half past.

They did activities related to time terminology in their Math notebook.

Students were paired up and they continued with the time terminology in the laminated time templates.

In English, students learnt the difference between fact and opinion. They made sentences based on those two words.

Students were read a non-fiction "Making a book". The book explains the process and describes the people involved in making a book - Author, Editor, Illustrator, Designer, Photographer, Production Manager, Publisher and finally the Printer.

In Art, students went to the senior school art gallery and saw various paintings and tried to understand how artwork can be a medium of communication.

To conclude, this was a fun filled learning week for our kids :)
